If I could go only one place in the world

I would like to visit Manchu Pichu in the Peruvian Andes, and travel there by hiking the old Inca trail. I’ve heard such great things about it from friends who have traveled there, and the mysticism of the place sounds appealing. The pictures I’ve seen have been breathtaking. The trail has recently reopened after being closed for a number of years. It’s difficult to get a permit, there’s a long waiting line, and you must hire a guide now. I would probably hike there and take the train back to Cuzco. There’s a rainy season and a dry season, I would go during the dry season, which is from April to October. Since that is the peak season, I would need to make reservations well in advance.
